You have decided that the floors in your home are looking old and tired and you are ready for a change, but what should you chose. The choices today are so much wider than they have ever been before. First, you may want to choose a laminated floor. There are many different types of laminate floors, the most popular resemble wood. But you can also get laminates that resemble slate, terracotta, and assorted metals. Laminated floors are installed on a thin piece of foam without glue or nails. Third, Ceramic floors tend to be long lasting and offer a wide variety of looks. The tiles come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and very beautiful designs can be created with them. They are durable and easy to maintain. They work well in warmer climates as they tend to keep a room cooler.

Fourth, Wood and vinyls are still quite popular in an office environment. Wood is still popular in some industrial spaces where a certain amount of resilience is required. Wood still rules when it comes to the best surface for dance floors and gymnasiums.

Fifth, sheet vinyl is quite popular because of the fact it is economical. A cushioned vinyl floor can be quite comfortable to walk on. Vinyl tiles are also popular because they quite good and are economical.

Lastly, for those of you who can’t decide on an alternate floor covering there is always carpet. Carpet has changed greatly from the carpet of your mother’s day. They are more durable easy to clean and come in great colors, patterns and textures.
